Home Reprise – Beauty & The Beast Auckland Cast
Feb.27, 2010 in
auckland accommodation
This is the fight scene leading up to the Home Reprise and also Transformation of Beast to Prince. Not sure about the fight scene in this, do like the transformation and also hated the wig I had to wear. Susan Edwards plays Belle, Steve King plays Gaston, Aaron Tindell plays Lefou, and me James mackay plays Beast.

Yeah kick his butt. Oh no wait. He made it possible for us to record this…….perhaps we should think about it before we kick his butt.

Oh man… I love this transformation sequence so much…
There are rumors going around my school that we’re doing Beauty and the Beast this year, and I’m kinda ticked off because I can’t be in the drama class, which automatically counts me out for the role of Belle.
But, I can wait and hope that a community theatre does this production before I go off to college where I can be in it…
You did an amazing job as the beast. Seriously. Belle was good too. I loved what you guys did!

Unfortunately it’s not for sale the DVD’s. This was just an amateur performance we did of the and the DVD we had made was for cast only. Since I was the beast I decided to post it on youtube

The transformation scene is probably the best I’ve seen on YouTube. I also like the bit at the end where they go up to the tower and look at where the rose was, v. sweet
Wish Britain had the amateur performing rights!!

FALSE!
Belle was supposed to be higher up, and while the Beast is climbing he gets stabbed.

Have you not heard of artistic license?
Your comment = FAIL

We had them in 2006 so you guys must be able to get them. Last I heard they did the show in NZ last year for another society. Thank you very much for your comment

I agree ! One of the best transformation scenes I’ve seen on YT or live community theatre.
The company that I sometimes work with is doing BATB as their next show in April 2010. They are renowned for doing very professional style shows (I’ve played character parts in a few) and I am planning to audition for Lumiere mid-December.

Awesome you’ll have to post videos once it’s done.

NASH29 : As I mentioned earlier I auditioned mid- December and had my callback last Sunday, Dec. 20. It was a gruelling 4 hour session with lots of talented people, but later that evening I got the call – and was offered and accepted the role of Cogsworth ! I’m really excited now and can’t wait. Will post some vids once we get rolling, over the next couple of months.

Best non Broadway Transformation sequence I’ve seen, period. Although there’s ONE thing that bothers me about EVERY productions “final battle” scene I’ve watched on Youtube. When Gaston stabs the Beast, not a single one of them has cried out. They’ve all been dead silent throughout the ‘stabstabkillmainstab’ part. ._. It would be alot more convincing to hear that outcry of pain from a knife sinking into their back than just a quiet dismissal. Great job though. Kudos to you. ♥

@HITFileMurdoc Thank you very much HTFileMurdoc as it was we were using a stunt beast in the same costume as I was, so all my lines were pre recorded as I was getting ready at the start of the fight in the prince makeup. It was all up to the sound guys to put the sound in the right places.
