Woah, never gone around in a plane before. Must’ve been quite bad weather!
Were you on this flight?

I have only ever experienced a go-around at SYD on EK because of wake turbulence, it is a strange feeling!

What date and flight number was this? I had an 0830 CHC-AKL flight on 13/04 and it didn’t leave until 1230 because of fog

Last year I was in an Air New Zealand 737 that made 3 missed approach’s at Queenstown then diverted to Invercargill & made one missed approach there before finally landing on the second attempt.

It was interesting that’s for sure. On the last attempt at ZQN we broke out of the cloud just as the aircraft powered up for the missed approach & when we did the passenger’s applauded (thinking we would land since the ground was in sight) then as we climbed out & people realised the clapping quickly stopped lol.

DoniiBoy, in low vis ops at Christchurch taxiways A3, A4 and A5 are closed so the aircraft have to roll down to at least A6 (the second to last taxiway on a 3,3km long runway) anyway hope that helps.

I remember once seeing a plane about to land in Christchurch either early this year or last year and it took off again from really quite close to the runway (don’t know the proper terms lol), was like wtf, came back and landed. Didn’t seem like there was anything wrong, the weather was good. Plane seemed ok cos it went and did the next flight.
